Kerntype is an amazing HTML5 website that make kerning typefaces into a fairly competitive game. It's been making it's rounds in the office and I find it amazing that such a simple game can grab so much (well deserved) attention. Even it's own company wide leader board.

The concept is simple, you're presented with a word in a certain typeface and you are then asked to adjust the spacing between the letters to achieve a visually pleasing result. You are scored on the difference between a preset "perfect" kern position, once you complete all 10 levels you are graded on a score of 100.

Using simple games like this makes it fun and enjoyable to learn about subjects, and using HTML5 technologies makes it easier to turn your ideas into reality.
